Course description

How pupils use apps, games and group chats, the digital clues that can signal risk, and how to respond and refer safely in line with school policy.

Who it's for: All school staff, primary and secondary: teachers, teaching assistants, pastoral, office and lunchtime staff, DSLs, designated teachers, SENCOs and leaders.

How it works: This is a reflective course, not a lecture. Each idea is introduced, you share your view, sense-check it, then see what good practice looks like so you can check your own thinking. Every idea comes with a primary and a secondary school scenario.

What's inside:

  • Children's online lives by phase
  • Digital clues: grooming, exploitation, online racism and bullying
  • Responding safely and telling the DSL
  • Apply it: a branching scenario and a drag-and-drop activity
  • Your commitment and a five-question knowledge check
