Course description

This is the mandatory induction for all staff and freelancers working on the Fostering South West programme, delivered by Black Foster Carers Alliance in partnership with Fostering South West and funded by the Department for Education's Fostering Innovation Fund.

Presented across nine short modules, the course covers:

• Welcome to BFCA and what we bring to the partnership
• The programme: Recruit, Retain and Reflect
• Targets, records and your role, including recording your work in the BFCA CRM
• Duty of care and professional conduct
• Safeguarding: recognise, respond, record and report
• Confidentiality and data protection, including what to do in a data breach
• Cyber security
• Equality and culturally informed practice
• Public money and wellbeing

The final assessment has core questions for everyone, plus questions for your role: Leadership, Delivery, Outreach and Events, Communications and Stories, or Data and Admin. You need 80% to pass. A certificate of completion showing your role is available once you pass.
