County lines, child criminal exploitation and harm outside the home: for foster carers and supervising social workers

Criminal exploitation is one of the biggest risks facing children in care today. In this course, we'll look at how it works, who is targeted, the signs to look for, and what you can do to keep a child safe and close.

This interactive e-learning course has 5 short modules:

• Module 1: County Lines and Exploitation
• Module 2: Who Is Targeted, and Why
• Module 3: Grooming and Warning Signs
• Module 4: Contextual Safeguarding
• Module 5: What Carers Can Do

It includes narration, practical scenarios and a final quiz of 12 questions (80% pass mark). You can learn at your own pace on any device, and you'll receive a certificate when you complete the course.

• Recognise why children in care and other groups are targeted
• Understand why Black and mixed heritage boys are often seen as offenders, not victims
• Spot the stages of grooming and the warning signs
• Describe contextual safeguarding and harm outside the home
