Location:  Florida and Nantucket

Position Summary:

The Housekeeper is responsible for taking the actions necessary to maintain an impeccable appearance for the interior of all buildings for the private residences during the season in Florida and the season in Nantucket. The Housekeeper will follow various cleaning schedules in order to ensure that the homes are cleaned in the most convenient and efficient way for the family. The ideal candidate must be detailed, service oriented and willing to work collectively with existing staff to maintain high standards of service and overall efficiency of the residences.

The Housekeeper will be based in Palm Beach, Florida where the main residence of our principals is located and will work there from October to June. The Housekeeper will travel to Nantucket at the end of June and will work there until mid-September.

Position Responsibilities, but are not limited to:

The general duty of the Housekeeper is to clean and tidy the family’s home, making sure it is presentable at all times.

• Cleans the main house, guest houses, and all other assigned areas.

• Organizes personal items and closets as directed.

• Handles dry cleaning needs.

• Iron and press clothing and linen.

• Checks and purchases groceries and household supplies to maintain adequate supplies as needed.

• Inventories, orders and stocks the laundry room, medications and pantry with all needed equipment and supplies per guidelines provided.

• Takes care of travel needs – packing and unpacking.

• Assists with daily basic kitchen needs.

• Assists with receiving and sending packages as needed.

• Informs Manager of all activities and any needs prior to leaving the premises.

• Changes bedding and make beds as directed.

• Replenishes supplies such as drinking glasses, linens, writing supplies, and bathroom items.

• Gathers and empties trash bins.

• Cleans furniture and fixtures as directed while using only approved products.

• Dusts furniture and all other surfaces as applicable.

• Willing to assist with moving and arranging of furniture – if required.

• Carries linens, towels, toilet items and cleaning supplies, among other things as required.

• Washes dishes and cleans kitchen, including polishing the silverware.

• Maintains professional appearance.

• All other housekeeping tasks as requested.

Other responsibilities

• Supervises vendors and contractors when doing work at the house(s) if needed

• Reports to the Estate Managers when there is a problem in the houses.

• Checks the systems of the house regularly

• Report problems with function of systems or any other defects to the manager

• Monitors window washing schedule and reports to manager

- Must have knowledge and experience in the care of fine finishings, special surfaces and how to work around high-end artwork and antiques.

- SHOULD NEVER use cleaning products that are not approved.

- Must have high cleaning standards.

- Must be experienced with deep cleaning and organizational projects.

- Must have experience with ironing and caring for high-end linens and delicate fabrics including sheets.

- Experienced multi-tasker who has the ability to respond to any request in a timely fashion and follow through until its conclusion.

- Must be able to follow specific direction and able to graciously accept feedback.

- Must be able to take the initiative to proactively look for anything that needs attention and work on it or report it to the appropriate party to get it resolved.

- Should possess excellent communication skills.

- Must be organized, hardworking, trustworthy, calm and positive and should be capable of multitasking.

- Positive, friendly disposition.

- Service oriented with a passion for excellence.

Qualifications:

- Full time position, including a willingness to work after hours or on weekends from time to time.

- Long-term intent.

- Must live locally.

- Must have strong time management and multi-tasking skills.

- Punctuality and good attendance record is a must.

- A polite individual who is flexible, self-motivated, a team player and energetic.

- Good grooming and personal hygiene with clean and proper dress as instructed by the employer.

- Must be able to move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing less than or equal to 35 pounds without assistance.

- Must be a non-drug user and a non-smoker.

- Good working knowledge of written and spoken English is required.

- Must be eligible to work in United States.

- Excellent references and a clean background check (due to the sensitive nature of the position, a background check will be conducted prior to the start of employment).
