EVENT OPERATIONS ASSISTANT

Flyspace Productions is a full-service, woman-owned event management and production company. We produce some of the largest festivals and live events in the region, in addition to numerous private, corporate, and community events. We provide our clients with support from a full-service, in-house Production Department that provides technical equipment including concert audio, lighting, truss, and rigging, as well as the largest fleet of  Stageline Mobile Stages on the East Coast. Our Creative Department provides exceptional expertise in festival production, event planning, brand activations, and fine art installation.

We are seeking Event Operations Assistants to work with us throughout the year. This work includes assisting in a vast array of work including but not limited to general labor, event production, site coordination, art handling, audio assisting, stage assisting, lighting assisting, event support, and theater production. Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

  • Understanding or interest in event production and/or artistic production
  • Willingness to work in a flexible schedule that may include long hours and irregular times, including weekends, nights, & holidays
  • Ability to receive, understand, and follow instructions & directions from a supervisor
  • Ability to follow directions and ask clarifying questions
  • Eagerness to learn & willingness to be trained in existing systems or policies
  • Maturity & understanding of an artistic process and the ability to work closely with clients in a diplomatic & professional manner
  • Reliable transportation to event sites throughout the area
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Must be at least 18-years old on the date of hire.
  • Ability to lift, push, and/or carry up to fifty (50) pounds.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in theater, events, concerts, or other production environments.
  • Knowledge of best practices in packing technical equipment into box trucks.
  • Knowledge of different kinds of event production equipment
  • Technical skills such as carpentry, lighting, sound, rigging, or AV experience
  • The ability to drive a large vehicle such as a van or box truck is preferred

This is an hourly, non-exempt position that is scheduled as needed. The pay range for this position is $17 per hour, with the opportunity for candidates with previous experience, higher-level technical skills, and certifications to be considered for higher rates.
