Discovery Senior Living   is hiring a Contracts Coordinator

The Contract Coordinator position is responsible for supporting the Legal Department at Discovery Senior Living (DSL) in the management, organization, and processing of contracts across the enterprise. This role will serve as the central point of contact for contract intake, review (under attorney supervision), signing and archiving. As well as form repository management. The Contract Coordinator will also assist with drafting, tracking contract lifecycles, and supporting enterprise-level contract projects. The ideal candidate will be a licensed paralegal with excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for intake of new contracts.
  • Serve as the central point of contact for contract archiving, ensuring all agreements are accurately filed and easily retrievable.
  • Manage and update the company’s contract form repository, including assisting with updates and version control.
  • Review contracts under attorney supervision to ensure compliance with company standards and applicable regulations.
  • Provide direct support to attorneys in drafting and reviewing contracts, including preparing initial drafts and redlines.
  • Lead enterprise-level contract projects, including the archiving and organization of existing department contracts in preparation for due diligence related to strategic transactions (e.g., acquisitions, sales).
  • Track contract lifecycles, deadlines, and renewal dates; coordinate with business stakeholders to ensure timely execution and compliance.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of contract management processes and best practices.
  • Support the Legal Department in responding to contract-related inquiries from internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments to ensure contracts are processed efficiently and consistently.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Licensed paralegal (preferred).
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of relevant paralegal or contract management experience, ideally in a corporate or healthcare-related setting.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Language Ability:
    • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
    • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret contracts and legal documents.
    • Ability to effectively present information to attorneys, executives, and other stakeholders.
  • Cognitive Demands:
    • Strong understanding of contract structure, terms, and legal concepts.
    • Ability to manage large volumes of documents and competing deadlines.
    • Ability to solve problems and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Computer Skills:
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and document management systems.
    • Experience with contract lifecycle management (CLM) tools a plus.
  • Competencies:
    • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Ability to work under minimal supervision and demonstrate initiative.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
    • Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with attorneys, executives, and cross-functional stakeholders.

ENVIRONMENTAL ADAPTABILITY

  • Works primarily indoors in a climate-controlled setting.
  • Occasional travel; less than 5%.
