Job Description
Our Client in the banking industry is seeking a dedicated Compliance Officer for their Retirement Plan Services team in South Bend, IN. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our retirement plans adhere to all applicable Department of Labor (DOL) and Internal Revenue Service (IRS) regulations, maintaining the highest standards of compliance and service.
Key Responsibilities:
Review trust instruments and benefit plans to assess the bank's responsibilities as trustee.
Consult with external clients, including corporate officers, attorneys, actuaries, and beneficiaries, regarding account preparation, document review, and account supervision.
Collaborate with internal teams such as investment, operations, and trust personnel to resolve account record-keeping and transaction processing issues.
Conduct periodic reviews of accounts to ensure alignment with customer needs and objectives, recommending modifications as needed.
Address inquiries from all levels of client organizations related to employee benefit account administration.
Review and evaluate new account applications for compliance and suitability.
Stay informed on legislative and regulatory changes affecting employee benefit trusts.
Assist in reviewing existing plans and proposing strategic enhancements to meet customer needs.
Maintain consistent, reliable attendance.
Complete all required compliance training promptly and accurately.
Ensure adherence to all relevant laws and regulations governing retirement plan services.

Skills and Requirements
5 to 8 years of relevant experience, preferably in retirement plan compliance or related fields
CRSP, QKA, or QKC license required.
Strong knowledge of ERISA and related regulations.
Extensive experience with Relius (relevant software platform).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, and internet applications.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to collaborate across departments and with external clients.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage time effectively. - Bachelor's Degree preferred
Knowledge of investment products is a plus.
