Compliance Officer - Midland, TX or College Station, TX
Summary:
The Compliance Officer will support the Chief Compliance Officer in the development, oversight, and continuous improvement of the organization’s Compliance Management Program. This role is responsible for monitoring new and revised legislation, assessing organizational impacts, and assisting with the implementation and training related to regulatory changes.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure policies, procedures, and practices comply with applicable federal and state laws and regulations.
Monitor regulatory updates and assist with evaluating their impact, implementing new processes, and enhancing existing procedures.
Conduct Fair Lending reviews across multiple business lines.
Manage the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) process, ensuring accurate data collection and reporting.
Develop and deliver compliance training to employees, managers, and directors.
Perform periodic monitoring of deposit and loan processes, summarize findings, and support remediation and staff education.
Serve as a day-to-day compliance resource for employees across the organization.
Oversee the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) program, including collection of reportable activity and preparation of reports for leadership.
Collaborate with auditors and examiners to address compliance issues.
Identify and report suspicious activity to the BSA Department.
Maintain expertise in relevant regulations and laws, including but not limited to CRA, Fair Lending, UDAAP, TILA-RESPA Integrated Disclosures, HMDA, RESPA, Privacy, FCRA, ECOA, Flood, and Funds Availability.
Complete required annual compliance and skills training.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, or a related field.
Minimum of three years of compliance-related experience in financial services.
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and financial services systems.
Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) designation preferred.
