The 2nd Grade Teacher is responsible for providing high-quality instruction in all core academic areas while integrating Catholic faith, values, and traditions into the curriculum. The teacher fosters spiritual, academic, and personal growth in a Christ-centered environment.
Model Catholic values and actively participate in the faith life of the school.
Prepare students for the sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion.
Integrate Catholic teachings and Gospel values across the curriculum.
Lead daily prayer and participate in school Masses and liturgical celebrations.
Plan, deliver, and assess standards-based lessons in core subjects: reading, writing, math, science, and social studies.
Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including those with IEPs or English language needs.
Use various teaching strategies, technology, and assessments to engage students and track progress.
Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate regularly with families.
Create and maintain a safe, respectful, and structured learning environment.
Implement positive behavior support systems aligned with school policies.
Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and administrators to support student success.
Attend staff meetings, in-service trainings, and school events.
Participate in professional development and ongoing faith formation.
Communicate effectively and professionally with parents, staff, and parish community.
Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or related field.
Experience teaching at the elementary level preferred.
Strong classroom management, organizational, and communication skills.
